About the Artist

As a full-time paediatric cardiac intensive care nurse, there is no job satisfaction like knowing that your actions and decisions have positively impacted the recovery of an incredibly sick child. In the same way, pursuing my artistic passion outside of work, I hope to have a positive impact on the psychological health of individuals and brighten their outlook on life!

From a young age I was influenced by the work of impressionists like Van Gogh, Monet and Matisse; their works fascinated me with their ability to convey emotion and memories.

My artistic side was stirred once more when at age 18 I moved to Paris to become an au pair. I would spend my spare time absorbing all of the incredible architecture and art that the beautiful city has to offer; from the Louvre to Sacré Cœur. I bought my first set of acrylic paints as an adult and started to experiment.

In the summer of 2019 I took the plunge and started showcasing my art online by creating a dedicated Instagram page, and made my first sale via an Etsy shop. The positive responses encouraged my work, as I became more confident to experiment in increasingly abstract styles.

Most recently, I was redeployed to another London hospital in order to use my intensive care skills in the international COVID crisis. It was through this life altering experience that the real importance of my art hit home. Producing abstract pieces on my days off gives me a creative outlet for some of the emotions that cannot be expressed into words.

Art plays such an important role, and the positive impact a piece can have on your day to day life cannot be underestimated. My dream is to one day be able to divide my time equally among my two passions, nursing and art, in the hope that I can help people to heal both physically and emotionally; from the depths of stress and confusion to the light of clarity and hope.
