Thie piece has a special place in my heart. Earlier this year, I was redeployed from my usual job in paediatric cardiac intensive care, to adult COVID ITU for 2 months. It was the most challenging, amazing, heart-wrenching, rewarding and terrifying experience of my life, and something I'll be proud of for years to come. As nurses, we don't expect praise or recognition for what we do day to day; we do it because we care. So participating in the first "clap for our carers" on 26th March 2020, I was moved to tears by the support and compassion shown by the British public for our NHS, and was inspired to create this piece.
 
The price of this piece represents the amount of money it would take to pay back my nursing student loan, and go forward in my career debt-free.
